Vision and Finance

A one-day practical course that helps heads and senior leaders move beyond reactive cuts and financial fire fighting towards strategic thinking.

What is it?

Finance and budgeting are areas that test the confidence and skills of many headteachers, whether they are new to the role or have been in headship for some while.

In light of the Government’s major spending review, allocating resources has become even more fraught with anxiety as important decisions have to be made on financial planning.

Headteachers have to ask:

  • Can we afford to spend as we have done so in the past?
  • Do we need to review all purchases in the light of the economic reality?
  • How do our purchases contribute to achieving our school vision?

Vision and Finance is a one-day practical course that helps heads and senior leaders move beyond reactive cuts and financial fire fighting towards strategic thinking. Focusing on budget deployment, the programme will help delegates to plan and use resources efficiently without compromising standards, pupil achievement or the school’s vision and ethos.
